2019 Barber Competition Rules

What will Kutz -N- Kickz Entail?
Kutz -N- Kickz is a series of barber competitions plus a spotlight for custom vendors.
The event starts off by opening the sneaker pit for sneaker heads and introducing the various challenges.
We have three challenges total; however, the event also features a new addition, Battle of the Barbershops. Next, we’re also signing six barbers to Global Barber Federation. So, come compete and win your spot!
“Sharpen Your Fade at Better Days – Ask about Barber Classes”
Rules for the Upcoming Barber Battles
FASTEST FADE – 15 min
This competition focuses on speed. So, we’re looking for the fastest barbers to compete. However, sharpness of fade should not be sacrificed. You must be able to perform a supreme cut quickly.
First, models, please have at least a number 2 length on top or higher, so no pre-cut lines, and no shape-ups. Second, hair is cut to 1.5 inches on top and bald on side.
Barbers are judged on the speed, blend, and cleanliness of line. Lastly, barbers will be judged on the overall cleanliness of the haircut.
Flambe Hair Fibers Special Edition Low Fade & Beard – 45 min

This battle focuses on clean and traditional haircuts. First, the finishing style must be a true low fade. Second, the length on top of the head must be at least 1.5 inches. Next, the haircut must be bald on the sides to show the full transition. T-shirt and products will be sponsored by Flambe Hair Fibers.
Barbers, we will judge your model by the fade, transition, shape-up, beard, and overall cut using the Flambe Product.

Babyliss Skills Pro – 30 min

This is the Elitest Challenge. The Babyliss Skills Pro Challenge is a freestyle twist between barbers and stylists cuts, so this is the chance to show your edge and creativity. The only stipulation is you must use Babyliss Pro Equipment. Your cape is sponsored by Babyliss Pro.
Barbers, your models will be judged on creativity, haircut, and level of difficulty. Lastly, you’re allowed to bring your choice of one cutting clipper and edger clipper plus your choice of guards and combs.

In closing, these challenges are friendly challenges, but please take them seriously. They are meant to demonstrate your abilities as a barber. Plus, we are filming this for the Better Days Barbershop documentary and Global Barber Federation. Additionally, they will be on-line forever; therefore, they represent GBF’s professional barber team as well as the Kutz -N- Kickz event.
