About Hair by Kesha Yvonne
Ms. Kesha Yvonne has been doing hair for over 20 years now. What started out as a sister sister moment as children transpired into a career and now soon to be family business. As a child, she remembers her older sister braiding her hair until she decided to teach young Kesha to do her own. She then took her passion from styling her dolls’ hair to a successful occupation as a stylist. Graduating from Salon Professional Academy in Huntsville to The Providence as a supreme cut artist, she later decided to pursue her true spirit, color.
As she she says, “I just love the science of it. I didn’t realize it was as complex as it is until I went to school to really learn it. It’s pretty extensive, but I just love the colors.”
That she does, and so does everyone else! It’s never a dull moment with Better Days Barbershop’s very own unicorn who is blossoming here before taking the final step to her career and opening her own business with her sister which is projected to occur within two to three years, so follow her here or on Facebook for more updates.
Future Events
Again, she has committed to future events solely based on participation. The events will reoccur at least until the final product giveaways are finished; however, supporting her now allows her to continue these events, and maybe even open up her business sooner. Plus, another passion of hers is Up-Dos, so you can probably expect events like that in the future as well. Don’t be surprised if you graduate from these classes by learning how to do your daughter’s hair for prom or a future wedding, but first she’s starting with the basics, Braids and Barrettes. Baby steps fellas.
“I decided to do Braids and Barrettes because I kept having the guys come in and ask me to put their daughters’ hair up in a pony tail. So, I figured I could just hold a class and teach them how to do it, and give them some tools to make it happen. You know, just in case they run into a situation again or like the mom has to work early. Or, they have their daughter for the weekend.”
